My very first book by John Grisham was The Rooster Bar and it definitely won't be my last. This book had everything you could expect from a legal thriller! Suicide, scamming, courtroom drama, and eventually an absolution.

The story opens up with students attending a private, yet ultimately, mediocre law school, drowning in student loan debt, and already being threatened with repayment plans, they realize that they had been scammed and it's up to them to figure out how to fix the problem. Taking time off school to both try to find a solution, and to also try to cope with the suicide of a dear friend, the characters in this novel are met with hurdle after hurdle. (And hey, at one point, a character appears who's name is FAYE and I happen to think that's pretty damn awesome)! Can our protagonists who have been screwed 15 ways to Sunday find a way out of this mess they happen to find themselves in? Only time will tell!

Like I said, The Rooster Bar will not be the only John Grisham novel I will be reading. I already have another on my TBR. Legal thrillers are always super intriguing, and I cannot wait to see what else is in store! I gave this book 4 out of 5 stars.
