Murder and a college campus, what more can you ask for? Apparently, a lot more is what you could ask for. The Maidens by Alex Michaelides had so much hype following the success of The Silent Patient, but I have to say, it did not live up to any sort of expectation for me.

Now, I didn't hate this book, but I absolutely did not love it. There were too many characters, too many storylines to follow, and the whole thing seemed a tad too predictable for me. It was however, a quick page turner, and had it been written slightly differently, I think it would've been much more enjoyable. To be completely honest, the storyline didn't really stick with me too much either, as I just finished it about a week ago, and remember very little about the plot. Maybe I'll try it again via audio book another time and see if I like it more.
Again, a very hyped up book, but fell very short for me. I gave it 3 out of 5 stars.
