That Summer by Jennifer Weiner was a long-awaited release that I was very excited to get my hands on, but it fell short of what I have come to expect from her

Daisy, Diana, Brad, etc. There were so many characters to keep track of, and I found there to be too much of a non-linear train of thought going through the novel. It was very hard to keep track of. The story had so much potential, but I couldn't get into it. I found myself thinking of other stuff while I was reading this story. I will say though, that the storyline of (trigger warning) rape had so much more potential and could've been written more into the story to add to it. I think that was a huge missed opportunity. I did however like the Jewish references, as I always feel connected to a story in that way.

Not her best work, but won't discourage me from reading more books by Jennifer Weiner either. I gave That Summer 4 out of 5 stars.
