First off, THIS COVER! Look at how beautiful it is! I just can't! I'm going to write about the series I've started already once I finish it in it's entirety, so I'm going to start my May entry with Mexican Gothic by Silvia Moreno-Garcia. I have had this book on my TBR for a while now, and I finally had the chance to get to it!

The story was quite interesting. I wasn't at all what I had expected it to be, but ultimately, it wasn't my cup of tea.

Noemi goes to check on her cousin, Catalina, after receiving a very disturbing letter from her. She currently is living in an old house, High Place. This house is way more than she bargained for. There's evil in every corner, and soon, she finds herself unable to escape, sucked into a never-ending cycle of bad luck and horror. There was a little too much fantasy for my liking though. I'm happy I read this book, but had hoped for so much more from it. I gave this book 3 out of 5 stars.

Dates read: May 2, 2021 - May 5, 2021
