Taking a quick break from talking about books (although...don't count that out quite yet...this is just the first sentence of my post)...to talk about one of my all-time favorite things in life: GILMORE GIRLS.
If you're out on the road, feeling lonely and so cold, all you have to do is call my name and I'll be there, on the next train.
Let's put aside the revival (I'll do a whole other post about A Year in the Life), but the original series was more than we could ever have asked for in a television show. The first episode I watched was 5 years into the show's beginning. I was over at a friend's house and she had them on DVD, and we were trying to figure out what to watch. I simply said, "what about Gilmore Girls" and she JUMPED at the opportunity to introduce me to the show. It took 1 episode, and that was it. I was HOOKED.

Lorelai, Rory, Emily, Richard, Luke, Sookie, Lane, Dean, Jess, Logan, Paris, and more became part of my daily life. I started to drink way more coffee, talk faster than I already did, and of course, started to read more books. I wanted to stay at the Independence Inn (and later on, The Dragonfly). I wanted a burger and fries from Luke's Diner so badly. I wanted to walk the halls of Chilton, and eat in the dining hall at Yale. And more than anything, I wanted to attend a town meeting in Stars Hollow. Gilmore Girls was my go-to show, and 15 years later, it still is!
I used to be able to name each episode on each disc of each season. Sadly, I can't do that anymore, thanks to Netflix (and the fact that I don't have a DVD player). However, I can still say each line to each episode...and I'm damn proud of that.
Just this past October, Gilmore Girls celebrated it's 20th anniversary, and I obviously had to join in the celebration by showcasing my paraphernalia.

Yes, I own clothing, coffee cups, DVD pamphlets, bookmarks, and more! I cannot just simply say that I'm a fan...Gilmore Girls is way more important to me than that. I've used the show to help me through some of the hardest times in my life. When my Boubie passed away in 2018, my husband was also going through a health crisis, and Gilmore Girls played a huge role in helping me cope. Being able to escape to my favorite fictional town with my favorite fictional characters was the perfect vacation from the horrors of reality. I lived by the motto "in omnia paratus" for the better half of my life. I will forever be grateful to Amy Sherman-Palladino for this. More than I can actually put into words.
Basically---I highly recommend that you watch Gilmore Girls. And after you do, please talk to me about it! Get at it! COPPER BOOM!
