Freed by E. L. James was the long-awaited installment of the Fifty Shades franchise, as told by Christian. I was waiting for what seemed like forever for this one to come out, and I gotta say, it fell short.

Coming in at just under 800 pages, Freed seemed to be just a bit too drawn out for me. I don't remember Christian being as whiny in the first two installments either. I may be wrong, but there was something about him in this book that made him seem like a depressed man who was trapped in a relationship as opposed to the first two where he stayed true to who he really was. I also found Anastasia to be underdeveloped in this installment, unlike the other versions of this story. Yes, the sex was hot, but a lot of the time, it was underwhelming, especially from Christian's perspective.
I'm glad I got to read it, since now it really feels like the series has come to a final end, but I gave this book 3 out of 5 stars.
