I don't know about you, but I always feel like if I'm not finishing a book every couple of days, I'm doing poorly with my reading goal...however, when I look at my final total for February, I can't be mad at myself. I finished 6 books this month, some of them winners, some of them not. Let's dive in...

I started off the month with a book that I was reading while working out at the gym. Before We Were Yours by Lisa Wingate was not what I was expecting at all. I was blown away by the story. At times, I was sick to my stomach, but it made for a read that I just could not put down. My own regret was the setting in which I chose to read it...the gym is not the right place to start to cry for sure. I look forward to reading her other books. I started off the month with a book I had rated 4 out of 5 stars!

It should be no surprise at all that my favorite book of the month was The Four Winds by Kristin Hannah! I waited forever for it to arrive, and I just couldn't stop from the moment I picked it up until the very last page. The Four Winds is a story that will stay with me for a very long time to come, and one that I will definitely read again. Kristin Hannah knows how to tell a story, and proved it once again with my only 5 star read for February. I am also very excited to talk about it in my book club this month!

It seems to be that every once in a while, I read a book that doesn't just fall flat---but one that I should've just put down after not enjoying it for the first 100 pages. The Hunting Party was that book for me this month. Lisa Foley's other book, The Guest List also fell very flat for me, but I had heard great things about this one, so I decided to give it a try. There were too many characters, and none of them were likable. I gave this book 2 out of 5 stars, and don't plan to read another book by Lucy Foley in the future.

Skye Jordan is an author I had never heard of in the past, but I checked my mail one day and had an advanced, signed copy of Flashpoint! The cover alone was enough to entice me to read, and bringing this book to work with me was quite a tricky thing to do. The story was light, fun, and sexy at times. My main complaint though was that it wasn't as steamy as I would've hoped for it to be. I see a book with a half naked firefighter on it; I expect more. I gave this book 3 out of 5 stars, and hope to read more of her books later!

I've read all 3 of Gillian Flynn's books, with Gone Girl being the last one to open. I struggled with her first two, and at the beginning of this story, I was pretty much feeling the same. However, the moment the story picked up, I just couldn't put it down! Nick and Amy were both likable and not likeable at the same time, and that made for a very fun read for me. I'm unsure of what Gillian Flynn has in store for the future, and I may join in on the fun. This was a 4 star book for me.

You know that one book everyone else had already read, but you never did? That was The Five People You Meet in Heaven by Mitch Albom. This book took all of 3 hours for me to read, cover to cover, and I had so many emotions while reading it. Each person we meet in heaven brings the reader closer to the protagonist and teaches lessons that I personally felt honored to learn. I cannot wait to read more books by Mitch Albom. This book was another 4 star book for February.
With February coming to an end, and spring right around the corner, all I see are possibilities on where I can go, and who I can go with. The year has just begun, and I'm very excited to see what's next. Happy March!
