I'm on a mission to read books by all the Fab 5 who run FRIENDS AND FICTION on Facebook, so Becoming Mrs. Lewis by Patti Callahan was high on my list, and I don't regret it even for a minute. The story started off a tad slow, but once it picked up, it was impossible for me to put down.

Joy was an American writer who was incredibly unhappy in her life at home. Jack was a British writer, who had quite a bit of fame of his own (his pen name being C.S. Lewis!!). They had developed a beautiful friendship as pen-pals for many years, until Joy went to England to visit him. Once there, she knew that life would never be the same. The two of them had one of the most love-filled friendships I've ever had the pleasure to read about. Friendship turned into more, but not without many hardships along the way. Without giving anything away, I'll just say this: read this with an open heart, because it'll just fill it more.

I give Becoming Mrs. Lewis 4 out of 5 stars. I could feel the emotion through the pages, and Joy and Jack's relationship was something so raw and real, I know it'll stay with me for a very long time.

Dates read: March 15, 2021 - March 18, 2021
