Okay you guys...I feel really bad but I fell very far behind on my blogs, but work has gotten really crazy, and I was too into reading the next adventure to stop and take a moment to smell the coffee. So, I'm going to wrap up April in one post, and then plan to pick back up as May progresses! Please accept my apologies!

Let me begin with the 4 books I didn't have the opportunity to discuss when I should've...

In one of my book clubs, we read Circe by Madeline Miller. I didn't realize that she also had written The Song of Achilles which has been all over my TikTok pages lately. I had very high hopes for this book though, and it fell very short for me. Had I not been reading it for book club, I wouldn't have finished it. It seemed to be the general consensus in my book club also. There was one person that truly enjoyed the story, but I feel like the amount of years covered in the story were too vast for the actual book. I had given this book 2 out of 5 stars.

In my other book club, we read The Hunting Wives by May Cobb. I found this book to be a quick, fun read. The story reminded me of some slight high school drama, but for adults. Regardless of that, it was still a fun book to talk about. The way the characters all intertwined with one another was really fun to see. The storyline was interesting, and provided a number of twists and turns that kept the pages turning. I had given The Hunting Wives 4 out of 5 stars.

The next book I read was the third book in the YOU series by Caroline Kepnes, You Love Me. Compared to the first two, which I could not put down, this installment was my least favorite of the bunch. I found the narration very difficult to follow, but I loved all the pop culture references that were written in. I am very excited to see the next season, and wonder how much of the series came from the book, seeing as the season was filmed prior to the release. I gave this book 3 out of 5 stars.

To wrap up the month, I read a book from my childhood, The Devil's Arithmetic by Jane Yolen. This book was very difficult to read, as it centers around the horrors of the Holocaust and the concentration camps. I've come to the realization that no matter how many of these books I read throughout the course of my lifetime, it will never get easier to comprehend the horrors of what happened in the camps, but that's okay. What happened in the camps should never be taken lightly, but should always be studied and taught. I gave this book 4 out of 5 stars.

Overall, I read 17 books in the month of April. A personal best. Besides The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah (which is one of my all time favorite books), my favorite book of the month was What You Wish For by Katherine Center. My least favorite was Circe by Madeline Miller. I can't wait to continue my adventures in May. I'm already 3 books deep!
